The primary risks include injection site pain, bruising, and the rare but serious complication of priapism (prolonged erection). Your prescribing physician will provide injection training and guidance on what to do if a prolonged erection occurs. Our pharmacists are also available to answer questions about proper injection technique and storage.
- Trimix injections must be kept refrigerated at all times — they should not be left at room temperature for extended periods. When properly refrigerated, our compounded Trimix preparations are stable for the beyond-use dating indicated on your prescription label. We use pharmaceutical-grade beyond-use dating based on USP standards. Do not freeze Trimix, and discard any preparation that shows visible discoloration or particulate matter.
- Most insurance plans do not cover compounded medications, including injectable ED therapies. However, our pricing for compounded Trimix and Bimix formulations is typically significantly more affordable than the brand-name injectable alternatives.
