Privacy policy.
How Village Pharmacy & Compounding handles personal information collected through this website, our forms, and patient portals.
This Privacy Policy covers the Village Pharmacy & Compounding website and online forms. Protected health information handled through the pharmacy is governed separately under our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices.
What we collect
When you use this website, we may collect:
- Contact form data — your name, email, phone, the message you send us, and any clinical context you choose to include.
- Refill and prescription requests — the information you enter so we can fill your prescription, including patient name, date of birth, prescription details, and preferred delivery method.
- Job and partnership applications — resume content, professional history, and any background you provide.
- Technical data — IP address, browser, device type, pages viewed, and referring URL. Collected automatically through standard server logs and analytics.
How we use it
- To respond to your inquiry, fill your prescription, or process your application.
- To improve the website — understand which pages help and which need work.
- To send transactional messages (refill confirmations, delivery updates).
- To meet legal, regulatory, and accreditation obligations as a pharmacy.
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it. We do not share it with advertisers.
Text messaging (SMS)
If you opt in, Village Pharmacy & Compounding sends you text messages about your pharmacy services — prescription-ready and refill reminders, delivery and pickup updates, appointment reminders, and account or billing notices. Messages may be sent using an automated system.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time; reply HELP for help.
Opting into text messages is not a condition of purchase or of receiving any pharmacy service or medication. Declining texts never affects your care, and you can change your mind at any time.
Mobile information — never shared for marketing. No mobile information, including phone numbers collected for our text-messaging program, will be sold, rented, or shared with any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We share mobile information only with the vendors that operate the messaging service itself, solely to deliver these messages, and they may not use it for any other purpose. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party or affiliate for marketing purposes.
Health information in text messages. Village Pharmacy is a HIPAA-covered pharmacy. Standard text messages are not a secure channel, and mobile carriers may be able to see message content. By opting in, you acknowledge this and agree that we may send you limited health-related information (such as “your prescription is ready”) by text. We do not send diagnoses, lab results, or detailed medication information by text. If you prefer we not use text at all, tell us and we will contact you only by phone.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, and opt out of messages, by contacting us at info@villagepharmacymiami.com or 305-274-8955.
Your use of our text-messaging program is also governed by our Terms of Service.
Who we share with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the pharmacy and the website, under written contract that limits how they use it. These include:
- Web hosting and email delivery providers.
- Analytics providers that help us understand site usage.
- Customer relationship and communication tools we use to follow up with you.
- Couriers and shipping carriers, when needed to deliver your prescription.
- Insurance payers and prescribing clinicians, when needed to fill or pay for your prescription.
Any provider that touches protected health information is covered by a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement.
Retention
We keep contact-form and inquiry data only as long as needed to respond and resolve the conversation, plus a reasonable backup period. Prescription and patient records are retained per state and federal law (typically six years from the last fill, longer for controlled substances). Job application data is kept for up to twelve months unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what we have on file about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete contact-form or application data we no longer need to keep by law.
- Stop sending you marketing or refill-reminder messages.
For prescription and HIPAA-covered records, see the patient rights in our HIPAA Notice.
Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies to keep the site working (essential cookies) and to understand how it's used in aggregate (analytics cookies). We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels. Your browser can block cookies if you prefer — the site will still work, but some features may behave differently.
Children
This website is intended for adult patients, prescribers, and caregivers acting on a patient's behalf. We do not knowingly collect information directly from anyone under thirteen.
Changes to this policy
